Denise,

Zeke is loving his time in PA. He is an excellent car rider, he does not mind his carrier and he plays with his link toys and makes noises for us. He has been spoiled since he got here. Last night at dinner he made his arrival to the dinner table. He flew onto my dads plate and started to pick at my dads leftovers, he loved the fish. I then had to give him a good rinsing, he feet, belly and tail was covered in tarter sauce lol. He was enjoying himself and seemed content to be the only bird allowed at the dinner table. The it was pass around Zeke night, everyone wanted to hold him and love him and when it was time to go to the next person he didnt want to go. He eventually feel asleep with his head nestled into my tshirt as his body was nestled against my neck. He didnt want to leave. Kiwi and Kasey dont know what to think about Zeke. Kiwi got all excited and started to show possession, he marked all the different areas of the cage to say that it was his. Kasey poofs up like a turkey and clicks his beak at Zeke. They also want to know where this little thing came from and why he thinks he can just walk right on in and steal all the attention. The dog is afraid of Zeke and spend most of the night in hiding. She isnt afraid of the big birds but she seems unsure of the little one. The vet appt went great today, less stress then I thought. The vet gave Zeke so many complements and was impressed by him. The vet said that his breeder did the their homework because Zeke was one of the most well adjusted babies she has ever worked with. The vet was impressed with the diet he was started out on and how lovable and trusting he was. He was also the best at the polyoma virus vaccination. He didnt squirm, sqwak or put up a fight, he just sat layed there and took his shot. She had that hasnt happend in months. He also didnt seem to mind when he got his nails done or when she examined him to make sure he was healty. He just sat there and made his little happy sounds at her. Both the vet and her asst were in love with him. Who isn’t. He also loves his playgym here. He loves to sit on it and hang out on the sun patio and watch the birds. He also would just sit there for hours and was being good. He is learning that he cant always be with us but near us is good enough.

Hi Denise

I just wanted to touch base with you and again say thank you for raising Rowdy for us. He did very well on the way home. I know you are supposed to leave them alone the first 24- 48 hours but all Rowdy wanted was to be held. Gary had him asleep on his chest for 3 hours last night and this morning he didn’t really want to play and just wanted me and my son to hold him. How wonderful is that. He reacts to being out of place by wanting comfort from humans. He is a delight. I am sure he is missing Zeke but already seems to like his new cage. I will send you some pictures of him soon.

Thanks again.

Hi Denise,

I just wanted to let you know that our little friend has settled in nicely. We love him and he seems to grow more and more fond of us daily. In the morning, he comes out of his snuggle hut voluntarily, when we appear to open the cage. This morning he flew onto Gabrielle’s shoulder and just hung out there for awhile, letting her pet him. Then he flew onto my shoulder and nestled in my hair. He loves to sing along with Lulu’s piano playing. Joined Maisie during violin practice. His favorite spot is sitting atop the finch cage. David has been changing the finch food about 4 timnes a day cause Samson keeps poopin gin it. Not into clowning yet and not crazy about lots of handling or human food but eating plenty. He really is precious and seems happier every day.

Best wishes,

Maggie

Morning Denise,

I believe you have been in touch with Kelly, but I wanted to give ya an update as well. The girls are doing great! The entire family is thrilled to have them in our home. In the short time that they have been with us. I have learned they are truly amazing, sensitive, fun loving animals, I would never have guessed this. They each have their own special personality. The white one (Serenity Blue) seems to be the out going one with humans, the peach face (mai) is gentler, although it seems she rules the roost while in the cage. It is very obvious (again in a short period of time) that Kelly and birds have formed a bond. (She’s always kissing them YECH!). They immediately head for Kelly if they get scared, out of sorts or if someone enters the room. It is touching to watch the 3 of them. The point of this story is that you did a fantastic job of raising sweet loving animals and they have quickly re-warmed Kelly’s heart.

Thanks again!
